El Pla de l’Estany has true natural paradises which, alongside the remains of a rich past of history and culture, make for a very healthy mind and body.
Figures decorating Can Ginebreda forest to the remains of castles belonging to old feudal lords can be found on this route.
Les Estunes: These are the outcome of large earthquakes many, many years ago. The limestone forms caves and cracks which, like large passageways, may be experienced on foot. Some run to 30 metres in length.
Can Ginebreda Forest: Open-air sculptures or the use of a forest or park to show works of art and sculptures, etc. are not unusual. But none can compare to Can Ginebreda forest given the intense and personal vitality of the artistic experience and totality herein.
Church of St. Vicenç: Dating from 947, the church’s floor plan houses a single nave with a semicircular apse to the eastern side and a side door to the southern section. Side chapels were added later. The roof was raised and in the 18th century, a belfry was added.
Falgons Castle: The powerful Cartellà feudal family held Falgons castle amongst its many possessions, perhaps before 1226. It has a square floor plan with a central courtyard and four towers on the corners.
