Formed by a group of small villages and communities where the centre is the church and the old masía farmhouse of Can Pujol, Fontcoberta has overcome a strong population drift in recent years by inhabitants to other towns in the region. The development of the Melianta area has contributed to boosting life in the municipality, preserving one of the most popular traditions in the Pla de l’Estany: the real-life nativity scene.
