The municipality comprises nine villages and runs along the mid- and lower River Terri valley. The oldest archaeological finds (the remains of a mastodon) from the Palaeolithic period and the existence of Roman villas means, partly, that the Valle del Terri is rich in important history. Farming and stockbreeding represent a major part of the economy, with dry farming and livestock farms dominating.
